Golden Week: April 29 thru May 5
The summer starts off with a bang as people and cows stampede out to the Moooo! Bar at the first signs of summer: warm
days, sunshine and moogaritas on the beach! If you've been in the barn all winter, come on out for Golden Week. In addition,
the Moooo! Shop has their grand opening sale featuring all new items at 10 percent off. Cover your hide for less this Golden
Week.
We are usually very busy for Golden Week, especially from May 2-5. Please book accommodations early.
June
The Moooo! Bar is only open on Sundays in June. We also do many boat trips around the Inland Sea during this time. Check

1 Day Tour:Sea Battles, Daimyo and Pirates
July 4 "Umi Biraki"--Opening of the Sea Ceremony (marks the official opening of the beach for the summer). The Buddhist
Priest performs this Shinto ceremony to purify the sea and make it safe for swimming.
This day is also the "Mushi Okuri" Festival (throwing bad insects off the island)
And, the annual Shiraishi Yacht Race is on this day too!
As there is lots happening on July 4, accommodations will fill up fast, so please make your reservations soon!

July 19 Sea Day
Sea Day is a national holiday in Japan, which makes July 16-19 a long weekend. Accommodation will be fully booked, especially
for July 17 & 18. Get your reservations in early!
The Moooo! Shop, located next to the Moooo! Bar, has all your swimming needs including boardshorts, rashgurads, bikinis, and
sarongs as well as every day beach wear. The Moooo! Shop also sells Shiraishi Island souvenirs such as t-shirts, ball caps,
etc. Our Moooo! brand as well as our complete line of jewelry and accessories means you'll never be without a unique gift!
Aug 13-16 Obon Festival of the Dead (tentative dates follow)
Aug 13 Mukaebi. Welcoming the spirits to the island. Takes place at Bussharito Buddhist Temple. Shiraishi Dance performed
to welcome the spirits.
Aug. 14 Shiraishi Dance performed at Community Hall at 8pm
Aug. 15 Shiraishi Dance performed at Community Hall at 8pm
Aug. 16 Okuribi. Seeing off the spirits. Lanterns are lit and set out to sea in a beautiful ceremony called Toronagashi.
Shiraishi Dance performed on the beach for the last time. This signifies the end of Obon.

August 21 (Saturday) is the Shiraishi Fireworks and Live Band on the beach at the Moooo! Bar.
All accommodation will be fully booked for Obon and the Fireworks and Live Band night.
I cannot stress enough the need to make reservations early. If you're into camping, however, you can bring a tent and camp
on the beach for free anytime!
The Moooo! Bar is open on Sundays in September. We also do many boat trips through the Inland Sea at this time.
MOOOO! FEST Sept 26 (Sunday)
End of the year bash! Come out for the last day of the Moooo! Bar for the season.
There will be a mooin' BBQ and a live band on the beach. 2,500 yen gets you in and includes the BBQ lunch. Come
out, wear something cow, and enjoy the last chance this year to party on the beach. Beer, beer, beer, moo, moo, moo!
