"Mushi Okuri" Festival (throwing bad insects off the island). And, the annual Shiraishi Yacht Race!

July 19 Shiraishi Dance
The Shiraishi Bon Dance will be preformed on the beach at Sunset (6-8pm). This is an exhibition dance in advance of the
real thing to be performed during Obon.
July 21 Sea Day, a national holiday!
Come and enjoy the beach for the day.
July 26 Shiraishi Dance
The Shiraishi Bon Dance will be preformed on the beach at Sunset (8pm). This is a short (30 min.) demonstration dance.
The real thing will be performed during Obon.
San-chan's is FULLY BOOKED for July 18-20 and 26th. The Beach House is FULLY BOOKED for July 18-20th, and the 26th. Minshuku
Harada is FULLY BOOKED for the 26th. If you still want to come out on these dates AND are willing to rough it, contact us

August 13-15 Obon: Festival of the Dead, Shiraishi Bon Dance performances on the 13th and 14th at sunset at the community
center.
August 15th "Toronagashi" (seeing the dead spirits off to sea)on the beach at sunset (8pm)
Note: Everything fully booked for O-bon. The only option is to bring your own tent and camp on the beach.
August 23rd (Saturday) is the Shiraishi Fireworks and Live Band on the beach at the Moooo! Bar. Bring your tent and camp on
the beach! Reserve your tent space or minshuku before they fill up. Everything will be fully booked.
San-chan's is FULLY BOOKED for Aug. 9, 12, 23rd. The Beach House is FULLY BOOKED for Aug. 1-3, 8-10th. See Accommodations

3rd Annual Shiraishi Pilgrimage
Starts Saturday morning at 10:00am. Take part in a 400-year old Buddhist pilgrimage. Either come out for the day or stay
overnight and continue the pilgrimage the next day. Guided pilgrimage is free. Overnight packages from 5,000 yen per person,

MOOOO! FEST Sept 28 (Sunday)
End of the year bash! BBQ and our famous Moooo! Calfe Fruit Parfaits. 2,500 yen gets you in and includes BBQ lunch. Come
out, wear something cow, and enjoy the last chance this year to party on the beach. Beer, beer, beer, moo, moo, moo!
SAILING
How about a sailing trip through the Inland Sea? Miyajima is a 2-3 day sail (sleep onboard), Shikoku is a 1-day trip.
Ushi Island (Shikoku and Kompira-san) is a 1-day trip with an overnight on Ushi Island. We can also pick you up from Osaka
or Kobe and bring you to Shiraishi (2-day trip). Autumn is a great time for sailing!
