Miyajima
Shiraishi is a convenient stop off between Osaka and Hiroshima/Miyajima. Most travellers will not want to miss Miyajima,
with the big red torii gate in the sea. We can take you to Miyajima or bring you from Miyajima to Shiraishi, depending on
which direction you are headed. You have a choice of either sailing (2-3 days) or motorboating (4 hours). Both will include
a stop along the way for a BBQ on the beach and swimming (in summertime)
Three-day sailing trips offer the best sightseeing
possibilities with overnights onboard, either anchored off a secluded island or in the port of one of the islands such as
Omishima, with a famous shrine and museum to visit.

Awashima, Shikoku
Awashima (not to be confused with Awajishima) is a small island off Shikoku. Here Mr. and Mrs. Matsumoto run a minshuku in
a 120-year-old traditional Japanese house. Rooms are 8,500 yen per person and include two meals. This minshuku is unique because
it has an "irori" which is an old style pit dug into the floor of the house where the cooking takes place and where you can
keep warm in the wintertime. It also has a Japanese style "iwaburo" stone bath. Both of these make Awashima
a unique experience that is hard to find elsewhere.
This is our most popular trip, always getting rave reviews from customers seeking something really different.
The next morning, either come back to Shiraishi with us, or catch the 15-minute ferry to Shikoku and continue your
trip. Ferries leave Awashima at 6:45, 7:50, 9:30, 11:15, 14:30, 17:05, 18:25, 19:25. For
