Welcome to beautiful Shiraishi Island in Japan's Inland Sea.
Spend a few days discovering the island: Participate in a local festival, go sailing or kayaking, enjoy hiking or rock climbing, or just kick back and relax on the beach in a hammock at the Moooo! Bar with one of our famous Moogaritas!

The Moooo! Bar also runs Shiraishi Reservations, a free English service to help you book sailing, windsurfing, boating, kayaking, accommodations or transportation via private boat to your next destination.

July 5 "Umi Biraki"--Opening of the Sea Ceremony (marks the official opening of the beach for the summer). The Buddhist Priest performs this Shinto ceremony to purify the sea and make it safe for swimming. 
 
This day is also the "Mushi Okuri" Festival (throwing bad insects off the island)
 
And, the annual Shiraishi Yacht Race is on this day too!
 
As there is lots happening on July 5, accommodations will fill up fast, so please make your reservations soon!

July 20 Sea Day, a national holiday!

Come and enjoy the beach for the day. As this is a long weekend, accommodation will be fully booked. Be sure to book reservations far in advance.

The Moooo! Shop, located next to the Moooo! Bar, has all your swimming needs including boardshorts, rashgurads, bikinis, and sarongs as well as every day beach wear. The Moooo! Shop also sells Shiraishi Island souvenirs such as t-shirts, ball caps, etc. Our Moooo! brand as well as our complete line of jewelry and accessories means you'll never be without a unique gift!

August 13-16 Obon: Festival of the Dead
 
Shiraishi Bon Dance performances:
August 1 on the beach at sunset
August 8 on the beach at sunset
August 13th, 14th, 15th from 8pm at the community center.
August 16 on the beach at sunset
August 16 "Toronagashi" ceremony (seeing the dead spirits off to sea) on the beach at sunset (8pm). Shiraishi Dance after this.

Note: The O-bon holiday is the busiest time of the year. Everything will be fully booked, so get your reservations in as soon as possible. An alternative option is to bring your own tent and camp on the beach.

The international villa is fully booked Aug 1-6, 8-11, 14-15, 19, 22, 28-29.


August 22 (Saturday) is the Shiraishi Fireworks and Live Band on the beach at the Moooo! Bar. Bring your tent and camp on the beach! Reserve your tent space or minshuku before they fill up. Everything will be fully booked.

MOOOO! FEST Sept 27 (Sunday)

End of the year bash! BBQ and our famous Moooo! Calfe Fruit Parfaits. 2,500 yen gets you in and includes BBQ lunch. Come out, wear something cow, and enjoy the last chance this year to party on the beach. Beer, beer, beer, moo, moo, moo!
CRUISING THE INLAND SEA

How about boarding our Japanese fishing boat for an "Island Explorer" trip through the Inland Sea? We can take you to Miyajima, Shikoku,Osaka, and any of the island in between! We can also pick you up from Osaka or Kobe and bring you to Shiraishi. Autumn is a great time for cruising the Inland Sea!
